Monday Happenings!

I don’t know about your home but Monday’s are a day that we would like to forget. Unfortunately that means we’d have to worry about Tuesday…just can’t win so I guess we’ll bite the Monday bullet and start getting our chores lined up for the week.

I’m happy to report that you can now walk through our living room because we found places to put all of the plants. Yippee! It was not an easy task cause it seems that “Hobbs” our big guy had grown quite a bit over the summer. He is taller than most places in our home. We’ll have to put up with limited access to the “fancy eat’n room!” The cats are having a ball trying to figure out what the heck happened and they keep trying to figure out if it would be safe to scale some of those tall ones…NOPE! We’re keeping the spray bottle of water handy so we can give them a gentle reminder that they are dangerous plants. The older guys know better but our newest addition, Louie, hasn’t seen them before. He’ll learn quickly, I promise you!

Speaking of cats, we were surprised to see one of our outdoor buddies watching from the rooftop as we hauled stuff out to the garage. This is “Scrubs.” He was so named because someone dumped him off at the end of our driveway and the poor thing looked kind of scrubby. I’m happy to report that he has grown into quite a handsome fellow and he sure loves his belly rubbed.

One of my pals at Fractured Frugal Friends asked if we have a seasoning blend to use in creating an olive oil dipping thingie. Well, we do! And, it must be pretty good because the Wine Shop in Nicholasville uses it when they have their Friday night wine tastings. It’s so easy to make and so much fun to eat. Grab a nice glass of wine and set yourself down and enjoy the wonderful flavor of herbs, olive oil and crusty bread! Here’s the recipe that we use…

Herb’n Dipp’n Oil

1 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 Tbsp. Rub’n Season Herb’n All

1 Tbsp. Minced garlic

1 Tbsp. Balsamic vinegar

Blend all ingredients and let sit for 30 minutes so that the herbs can do their thing! Serve on a plate and dip warm crusty bread into the mixture.

Well, time to get my butt in gear. I’m heading to the soap shop for the day and Drew is going to be making deliveries, mailing out orders and heading to the bank so we can pay the bills! Hope you all have a wonderful Monday. 🙂
