Yup, it’s time to start handing out some samples again. We thought we would start out with a crowd favorite and one that is so easy to make and use so many different ways!

Boursin type cheese spread made with our Cheese’n Season!

If you like the buttery flavor of Boursin cheese, then you will love this one. And, it’s sooooo simple to make. Nothing more than butter, cream cheese and our Cheese’n Season! We’ll be serving it on crackers but we love to tell our customers that it’s so versatile to cook with. The recipe on the package makes a big batch so chances are you will have leftovers. For once in your life, leftovers is a good thing! We make small balls of the spread and freeze them on a cookie sheet. Once frozen you can put them into a freezer plastic bag and have them available for future use.

So, what the heck do you do with frozen balls of Boursin cheese spread? I’m so glad you asked!

No more boring baked potatoes with just butter…put a ball or two on your baked tater and enjoy the buttery herb flavor!

Like to grill? Try putting a semi thawed ball on whatever you have grilled. I really mean that! Goes great on a steak, burger, pork chop, fish, chicken breast, etc! We even use it on our grilled veggies!

Is pasta your thing? Try tossing a thawed ball with your cooked pasta…flavor and butter all in one!

Heck, you can even throw a ball or two into your cream soups for an little extra rich flavor!

Who knew a little ball of stuff could add so much flavor! HaHa!

P.S. You don’t even have to make little balls to enjoy our Cheese’n Season…it’s great in cornbread, soups, just sprinkled on veggies and even adds great flavor to a plain old grilled cheese sandwich!

If you’ve never had the opportunity to try our Cheese’n Season, stop by the Bluegrass Farmers’ Market tomorrow and enjoy a sample of our Boursin type cheese spread. We’ll be there from 9 until 2. It’s a nice ride out Richmond Rd. to the tree lined parking lot of Fast Signs and Pedal the Planet, right next to the Glenn Auto Mall. The great part is you can park right at the market for free! And, it’s wheelchair and stroller friendly!

Hope to see you at Lexington’s only 100% homegrown/produced farmers market! It’s a real pleasure to talk to the farmer that really grew, raised, baked or produced the items for sale…we love being members of the Bluegrass Farmers’ Market!
